2017 was a beautiful year for Brandon and I, we couldn't have asked for better times with our sweet Baby V. It was our very first full year with her. To sum up the whole year, we were happy, busy and blessed. To me, it was also a meaningful year of ongoing learning to be a better mom and wife ... I think I have been a better mom than wife though, sorry hubby! I will continue to try to remember these few words that I remind myself: less harsh and more love :)

I was glad that at the end of the year I finally took a chance to meet some of my previous students. Thankfully they seemed to be excited to see me! We chatted and hugged and smiled. That felt good to me who haven't been in touch with my favourite job for a while. You know now I say Baby V is my job when people point out I am jobless? When it comes to being a full-time mom, some people give you a high five while some people always have to be discouraging. So for all those full-time moms out there, despite how little/ no time you have for yourself anymore, don't be afraid to admit that you love this job. Spending time with my child makes my heart burst over and over again and although it is a ton of work to take care of her, I still wish time would slow down because I can't get enough of this sweet and fun little person before she is getting bigger, stronger and less dependent. It was great to see my students and not feeling empty, instead I felt even more positive I will return someday, with a bigger heart, a more inspired spirit and better understanding of other parents :)
Santa must have thought that Baby V had been a good girl all year so he brought her a lot of good gifts ... with Daddy's assistance!

I still love our Christmas hotpot tradition in Pjs, and it was even better when Baby V went for a nap. Daddy and Mama had a break for a little while! When Baby V was up we took selfies and sang and played, simple like we wanted :)
The year had a perfect ending ... We went to some nice places to chill out, enjoy Christmas food and the festive mood. Thank you 2017 for being special, sweet and safe :)

The last month of the year is special also for the reason that my mom, my sister and her son are the December birthday stars :) I still remember the year when I flew back to HK to see my newborn nephew and wished I could stay.

You know now I say Baby V is my job when people point out I am jobless >>> I totally get it. Every now and then, I hear people say to me that "you don't have a family so that it's easier for you to...Blah blah blah". Well, I'm not homeless (lol!), I just have a small family without kids. I try my best to stay away from people who lack of empathy. ;P
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how often you get "attacked" for having no kids, because I have already been told I should be ready for having a second one ... Yes, lots of people without empathy or respect out there.
DeleteBeautiful blog and nice recap of the end of our 2017 year. I will also try to remember to be a better hubby in 2018 and give you more love and attention which you deserve. I Love You!
