Where the Future Leads

It has almost been two months since I officially immigrated to the States. This has been the most stress-free time for me. I am settling really well. I have started my driving lessons little by little, learnt more cooking tips from my mother-in-law, paid more attention to the details of my new homeland and spent lots of quality family time with my U.S. family.

I should just continue to treasure this pace and peace now, but something was itching me when I started to read about teaching opportunities. Seeing the teaching materials hit me with teaching ideas again. I kind of missed my old routines! Hubby and I always talk about the future but lately we have discussed even more what we need to do with our new roles. Coming to this new world for me was a goodbye to my comfort zone where I could count on the familiarity. This is my new home where changes have already happened and I just need to keep tuning in. This is the same for hubby too as he has returned to the country with a different perspective. With the inspiration of my sister and brother-in-law's accomplishment and ambitiousness of starting a new business, we will take our chance too to do what we believe. Hubby has his own new ambition for his career and mine right now is to learn to be a safe driver not just for myself but also for our future children. Although patience is still the main direction of our future, I am already very proud of us for the growing maturity of our relationship. We grew from two newly weds longing for space and romance to a more mature couple and prepare ourselves to be future parents with new responsibilities and new commitment. We are lucky we are still young and hopeful and we have the same goals! We can do it, and we will do it together as a team!

Falling in love with each other was the turning point of what we are doing now. What we are doing will be the turning point of our future too.

The future comes faster than you think ... My little sister made this recently with our baby photos and it brought so much tears to my eyes. All three of us have gone our own way and chased our own dreams. Where the future leads us seems unknown but we will make sure we don't regret any of the efforts we put in!
