Miles between Us

Do you like poems? I am not a big fan of poems but there are many long distance relationship poems that I can easily relate to.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I was flipping through my old diary that I brought back home from my parents' place. There was a long forgotten love poem that was written in my diary dated on July 25th, 2001. The long gone memory came to my mind like a flashback - I orginally found it and shared it with Brandon. He was so sweet he resent it to me in his email after he personalized it. I was so thrilled and moved because of it. It reminded me that happiness used to come so easily and innocently when you first fall in love :) The poem goes like this:

There is a sea between us my love,
And I wish that it weren't true.
For every day when I awake,
I yearn to be with you Vicky.
Though there are many miles between us sweetheart,
You will forever be here in my heart,
And every night beneath the moonlight,
I pray for the day we'll never part.
I love you Vicky, from the bottom of my heart.

We eventually conquered the miles and left the poem forgotten. Now this poem came back to me as the miles between us are once again parting us. Is it trying to tell me that when you think you have everything, don't forget to look back and cherish what you asked for?
My old diary. It's funny I started to stop writing my diary after Brandon entered my life. By exchanging emails with him almost two times a day, he became my diary and it was even better because he would actually respond to my every thought and feeling that I wrote :)
